CASSP is governed by a Local Coordinating Council (LCC), comprised
of local organizations that work with families who have children and
youth with emotional and/or behavioral disorders. The CASSP teams
help families to identify and understand service needs, and connect
with community-based services, in the least restrictive, yet effective
environment. A Family Service Coordinator will assist families in
advocating for and coordinating culturally competent services for
their child and/or their family. The goal is to help families maintain
children in their home and avoid residential placement and/or hospitalization.
To qualify for CASSP/LCC services, children/youth must be in need
of multi-agency involvement.
LCC/CASSP is funded by the Rhode
Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). Gateway
Healthcare is the fiscal agent for the LCC/CASSP Programs.
